George W. Lambert, Jr.

George W. “Bill” Lambert Jr., 80, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025. The son of George and Viola Lambert, Bill was born and raised in Syracuse and graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy high school, way back when there was an Onondaga Valley Academy. A retired Syracuse firefighter, he lived for many years on Onondaga Hill, where he hosted countless holiday dinners and summer barbecues among family and lifelong friends. He loved dirty jokes and firehouse pranks, John Wayne and “White Christmas”, and when he told stories, they were as funny the hundredth time you heard them as they were the first.

Bill was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Lynda (Henry) Rogala. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Roquet; his niece Amy (James) Fricon; his nephew Christopher (Aleiya Gafar) Rogala; and his grand-nephews, Jack-Henry and Lincoln Fricon.

At Bill’s request, no formal services will be held. His family will hold a private memorial gathering at a later date.
