Paul reminds both pastors and church members that when their pastor preaches about Jesus Christ, it is the power of God. Thank God and your pastor for his preaching. He is doing God's work. 1 Corinthians 1:18

Elder Paul Everette Strong went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was 93 years, the youngest of 13 children, born to Stephen H. Strong and Eva Britton Strong. 

 

Paul was a minister and pastor for over 50 years and was a member of Walnut Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, Kingsport. 

 

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Betty Peters Strong; daughters, Teresa Hurt; Sharon Thompson and her husband, Ken; son, Steven H. Strong and wife Clarisse; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. A funeral service will follow with Elder Larry Miller and Brother Casey Skelton officiating. Brother Billy Jack Johnson will also share a few words. Music will be provided by Swatsell Family. 

 

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Church Hill Memory Gardens. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50. Pallbearers will be Steve Strong, Ken Thompson, Bill Skelton, Wes Verbal, David Roller, and Dennis Johnson.
