Angela “Angie” Carter

April 10th, 1960 – January 28th 2025

Angela Carter, age 64, passed away in her treasured hometown of Charleston, South Carolina on the night of January 28th, 2025. Although all were shocked to hear of her sudden passing, Angie, as she was known, transitioned peacefully in her sleep.

A prominent hairdresser for over 35 years in Charleston, Angie was well-known and well-loved by all who had the chance to meet her. Those who knew her best would easily describe her as strong-willed, free-spirited, kind, compassionate and loving. Angie was known for her love of anything Disney, specifically Cinderella, and the ability to create a safe space for all of life’s creatures- never saying “no” to anyone or anything in need. Always the one to shy away from help, Angie raised one daughter on her own, owned two homes, traveled and enjoyed countless vacations at Walt Disney World. Her bubbly personality and defiant optimism shined love and light in every room she entered.

Angie is predeceased by her mother Susan Koester, father Aaron Carter and younger brother Eddie Carter. Her older brother Michael Carter passed away a fortnight after her transition into eternal rest. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Kaitlyn Carter, her younger sister Theresa Pritchard and her beloved stepfather Archie “Bubba” Koester III. Angie is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Angie’s life will be held on April 9th, 2025 at the Pelican Watch Pavilion on Folly Beach, SC. 4pm till 7pm.
