Leslie "Pat" Douglas Patterson

Leslie “Pat” Douglas Patterson, passed away at his home in Ft Collins, Colorado on February 27, 2025, at the age of 98.

We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating his life at Viegut Funeral Home, Loveland, CO at 11 a.m. on March 5.  A military burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.

Born on May 7, 1926, in Raceland, KY, he enlisted in the Navy to serve in WWII on the USS Oak Hill. After his service in the Navy, he relocated to San Franisco and began working for IBM as a Computer repair man. It was there, in a boarding house, that he met the love of his life, Jean Madigan. They married and together Pat and Jean raised four children, Stan, Steve, Christy and Liz.

His 30-plus year career at IBM took him to many locations, including CA, WA, UT, NY, CO, FL and AZ.  Upon retirement, after working his way up to be a programmer for IBM, Pat and Jean moved to Ft Collins, building a custom home nestled against the Rocky Mountains.

Travel was in the Patterson blood.  Nearly every summer saw the family packing into the camper or trailer for extended adventures, visiting nearly every state—by car! This continued into retirement with Pat and Jean expanding their adventures worldwide—having visited EVERY continent.

Pat was a grandfather to Stephen (Morganne) and James (Alysha) Patterson, Laura (Patterson) Shaver (Adam), Andrew, Alex and Elizabeth Major, and Madigan and Ford Roll. He was also a great grandfather to Jordan, Brayden, Jackson, Addyson, Landon, Emerson, Payton and Hunter.
