Robert "Bob" Gene Ballantyne
January 15th, 1943 - February 22nd, 2025
Robert “Bob” Ballantyn was born in Bend, Oregon to Marie and Merle Ballantyne. He had two sisters Nancy (deceased) and Merlene, still living. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ramona; two daughters: Tammy and Niki; three grandchildren: Josh, Jason, and Jessica; and twelve great grandchildren.
He lived in Boise until he was ten when his parents moved to Winnemucca, Nevada, where he graduated high school. He spent many years roaming the desert and racing old cars when he was in high school. He loved growing up there and the desert.
Bob was an adventurous person and very independent. If you told him he couldn’t do something he would prove you wrong. He raced Jeeps in his younger years and climbed lots of rocks and sand hills. He raced boats and belonged to the Whitewater Jet Boat Club.
I met him in 1993 at a dance. I was so surprised when he told me we should take ballroom lessons. How lucky I was to meet someone that wanted to learn to dance. We married in 1994 in Las Vegas at Circus Circus. I always joked that our life was a circus from then on. We had wonderful years of dancing, RVing, and hiking. We spent many winters in Arizona and made many friends there.
He had his own business for many years in Garden City, and sold that in 2021. He started out as a used car lot but people kept stopping by looking for used tires! Before he knew it he was selling more tires than cars.
He will be greatly missed and so will all of his funnies stories about his years in business. He had an old motel that was behind the business and what stories he could tell you about that were hilarious.
Love you Bob with all my heart. I have lots of great memories.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
