Lauren Croxton

Lauren Croxton (née Crawford) passed away  on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 after a short but difficult battle with cancer. She passed in her home, surrounded by her family and her beloved cats. 

Lauren was born in Charleston, SC to Russell and Ethelyn Crawford on February 21, 1961. She grew up in Greenwood, SC and graduated from Greenwood High School. She studied theater at the University of South Carolina. Lauren gave her whole heart to helping anyone who needed it. She touched countless lives in her sixty-four years, and she never hesitated to lend a hand to a person or animal she found struggling. She was a dedicated employee of the Veteran Affairs Hospital in Columbia, and worked there until the very end. Lauren had a brilliant eye for antiques and was well-known in her family for her skill in canning (most notably for her pickles).

Lauren leaves behind her daughters Meaghan Westfall and Kathryn Rae Croxton and her son-in-love Matthew Hurtt, sisters Cindy Carlson (Ted) and Sandra Crawford, as well as many friends and her extended family. She was predeceased by her husband Don Croxton in 2008 and sister Rosalyn Simmons in 2006.
