Ray Edward Anderson, 96, of Meridian, CA, passed away on February 25, 2025. He was born on December 11, 1928, to Donald and Beatrice Anderson in Marysville, CA. 

He graduated from Arboga Elementary School, Marysville High School, and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He joined the U.S. Navy where he completed tours in the Philippines and Guam.

He was the past president of the Meridian Lions Club, past patron and 50 year member of Fidelia Chapter #56 Order of Eastern Star, past master and 50 year member of Hammonton Lodge #433 of Sutter, CA.

He was also past president of the Central Sacramento Valley Shrine Club, and a member of the Central Sacramento Valley Shrine Drum and Bugle Corps. He also served several years on the Sutter Union High School District Board of trustees. 

A farmer for 45 years, he was a partner in Tarke Brothers and Anderson Farm operations. He loved growing walnuts and almonds as well as tending to his beautiful garden of roses. 

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Beatrice Anderson; his first wife, Janice Anderson (Tarke); daughter, Paula Ruth Anderson; second wife, Shirley Anderson (Hammons); and brother, Eugene Anderson.

He is survived by son, Peter Anderson; son, Aaron and wife, Sarah Anderson; their children, Laura and Anthony; son, Tim and wife, Kim Hammons; their children, Gwendolyn, Lilliana, and Delilah; sisters, Beatrice Smith, Margaret Keane; brother, Bill Anderson; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Funeral service ill be held at Marysville Methodist Church on Sunday, march 15, 2025, at 11 AM, with a reception to follow at the church.

Family and friends are welcome to attend. A private burial will follow at a later time. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marysville First United Methodist Church.
