Rayme A. Lacy, Sr

Rayme Adrian Lacy Sr., of Satellite Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida. Born on April 18, 1947, in Red Bank, New Jersey, Rayme was the beloved son of Raymond and Dortha Mae Lacy.Rayme is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Eileen M. Lacy. He leaves behind his children Shannon Lacy Murray (Scott Murray), Ryan A. Lacy (Margaret Turgeon), and Megan Lacy Locke (James Locke). Cherished by his family, Rayme's grandchildren include Scott Michael Murray II, Shawn M. Murray, Taylor L. Lacy, Rayme A. Lacy III, Jackson C. Lacy, Andrew D'Agostino, Marin L. Locke, and Molly L. Locke. He also held dear his great-grandchildren, Scott Michael Murray III and Claire T. L. Murray. Additionally, Rayme is survived by his brother Roderic A. Lacy and sister Feather A. Lacy. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Rayme Adrian Lacy II.Rayme was a beloved teacher, coach, and official in Brevard County. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from The University of South Florida and a Master's degree from the Florida Institute of Technology. His teaching career spanned Melbourne Central Catholic High School, Cocoa Beach High School, Satellite High School, and DeLaura Middle School. Rayme had a passion for teaching subjects like chemistry, physics, computer science, and calculus, as well as coaching sports like baseball and football. He took great joy in umpiring baseball/softball, officiating football, and refereeing basketball.Rayme's pride and joy was his family, including his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved traveling in his family camper, taking cruises, and visiting Europe with Eileen and other family members. His passion for all things Disney was a way to further connect with his children and grandchildren. His legacy extends beyond his family to the thousands of students he taught, coached, and officiated.Rayme will be remembered for his dedication to education, his love for sports, and his unwavering commitment to his family. His impact on the lives of many will be cherished forever.A Celebration of Life for Rayme Adrian Lacy Sr. will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 2pm at Bicentennial Beach Park at 2 Ocean Dunes Drive, Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. Refreshments will be served in honor of Rayme’s passion for education, we have established a scholarship in his name for future education majors.
