Mary Elizabeth Rasmussen(Reed)

Mary Elizabeth Rasmussen (Reed) went to be with the Lord February 18th, 2025, at the age of 90.

She was born in Rochester, WA on August 12, 1934, to William Aaron Reed and Lucy Louise Reed (Carper)

Mary grew up in Rochester Washington and graduated from Rochester High School in 1953. She had a long career as a grocery checker for Albertsons and Safeway stores. She was always a hard worker, and her devoted and cheerful demeanor made her a valued figure in the community.

She was married to John A Rasmussen for 29 years and together they lived in Tumwater, Black Lake, and Tenino Washington until John's death in March of 1989.

She spent the last 18 years in loving companionship with Gordon Haskins, residing mostly in Mesa and Kingman Arizona.

Mary is survived by her daughter Laura E. Bronson and son-in-law Bill Bronson. She was a proud grandmother to Mike Bronson (Jennifer) and Sunny Hougan (Tom). In addition, she leaves behind five great grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

Mary's hobbies included painting, sewing, gardening, traveling, berry picking, fishing, clam digging, playing cards, reading and working jigsaw puzzles. She had a real passion for growing flowers and was always surrounded by their beauty in what she called her scatter gardens.

She found joy in feeding the birds and squirrels and nurturing nature around her. Mary's legacy of love and appreciation for the simple pleasures in life will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Grand Mound Cemetery where those who knew and loved her are invited to share their memories and honor her remarkable spirit.
