Gerald "Jerry" Chester Johnson
August 12th, 1955 - February 20th, 2025
Gerald C. “Jerry” Johnson 69, peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at his home in Loveland, Colorado on February 20, 2025. Jerry was a stubborn man and his courageous battle lasted several years due to his unstoppable will.
Jerry was a native Coloradoan, born on August 12, 1955 in Denver Colorado. He attended Lincoln High School and received his degree in 1973. Jerry spent his entire career in the construction field. In 1988 he started his own company, Mile High Hollow Metal which he retired from in 2018.
Jerry was extremely artistic in his work or his personal projects, he could come up with an idea and could build it from his gazebos in his backyard to building a small riding plane and boat for his son and grandchildren to ride in behind his bicycle. Jerry was able to fix just about anything, he would take something that would not work for a job and fabricate it until it would work. He built two of the most wonderful roll top desks for his daughter's you know he cared about his work from the quality and craftsmanship.
Jerry is survived by his wife Barb of 51 years of Loveland CO, daughter Julie Williamson of Loveland CO, son Matthew Johnson of Denver, CO, son-in-law Kris Klockenteger of Commerce City, CO granddaughters Sydney Seiden of Pine CO, Paige Coats of Winder, GA, grandson Zachary Coats (Scarlet) of Winder, GA, great grandchildren Zachary Payton Coats, Baylor Rhett Coats, Elenor Prudence Coats, and Heidi Elizabeth Cribbs of Winder, GA, brother John Johnson (Risa) of Parker, CO, nieces Lara Johnson of Denver, CO, Alina Larson (Doug) of Castle Pines, CO, brother Al Johnson (Janine) of Littleton, CO, nephew Jeff Johnson (Kelly) of Parker, CO, sisters-in-law Wanda Korodi (Randy) of Denver, CO, Sandra Luchetta (Mike) of Boulder, CO, brother-in-law Lee Lewis of Wittmann, AZ, and many close friends.
Jerry was proceeded in death by his father and mother Jim and Geneva Johnson, father/mother in-law Bill and Beverly Gilmore, daughter Kelly Klockenteger, niece Jennifer Johnson.
Arrangements will be planned this summer.
In lieu of flowers, you can donate to your local animal rescue in Jerry’s honor. As much as he loved his family, he also loved his furry friends.
