Margaret "Marney" Goldberg
1944 - 2025
Margaret Stone Goldberg (Marney), 80, of Thornton, Colorado passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 17, 2025. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Oral and Ruth Stone, she lived in several parts of the U.S. including Ohio, Connecticut, Arizona, and Colorado.
From an early age, Marney was extremely passionate about teaching, ministry and serving others. She worked as an elementary school reading specialist and teacher. Her role as a teacher extended beyond the classroom as she ministered to children, bringing the Good News of Jesus.
She was a devoted and loving wife who truly appreciated quality time with her family and friends. She was especially fond of her grandchildren. She enjoyed various crafts, tennis, camping, biking, boating, Bible studies, Church, and singing alongside her husband David Goldberg. Her positive and joyful attitude was radiant and admired.
Marney’s life was a testament to the love and faithfulness of God. Her dedication to the Gospel and her heart for children’s ministry was an inspiration to countless individuals. She served her community in different ways throughout retirement, which included the role of North Denver Ministry Coordinator for CEF (Child Evangelical Fellowship).
Marney is survived by two siblings, Sandy (Susy) Stone and Barb (Mark) McCue; children Sheri (Bob) Collins and Adam (Susan) Goldberg; and grandchildren Nate (Laura) Collins, Corey Collins, Caitlyn Collins and Caleb Goldberg. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Marney was preceded in passing by her husband, David Goldberg and brother, Michael Stone.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 4:00pm, at Legacy Christian Fellowship, 9200 Hoffman Way, Thornton, Colorado 80229. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship, online at www.coloradocef.org/northdenver.
