Ruth Jeanne Atherholt
December 9th, 1953 - February 25th, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ruth Jeanne Atherholt, age 71, on February 25th, 2025. She passed away peacefully in her sleep after a courageous and relentless fight with Gall Bladder Cancer. She was born on December 9th, 1953 to parents Henry and Mary Thurston in Washington DC. She grew up in Greenbelt, Maryland with siblings, Deanna (Ned) Gardner, Martha (Luther) Newton, and James (Dana) Thurston.
She lived most of her life in beautiful Colorado where she raised her children worked and retired from Toys R Us after 30 years.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Paul Atherholt Sr., her three daughters, Trissy (Cecil) Pass, Teresa Atherholt, Jaime (Hank ) Laboy-Bonet, and son, Paul (Alexa) Atherholt Jr.
She was a cherished grandmother to her seven grandchildren, Raelyn and Caelan Pass, Alex and Arianna Laboy-Bonet, Priseis, Aristea and Aurora Atherholt and great grandmother to Emery Mundine. She also leaves behind several cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Her cremation will be held at All States Cremation in Westminster, Colorado. Donations can me made to American Cancer Society in her name.
