Thomas Earl Mathisen
October 29th, 1944 - March 7th, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Earl Mathisen, who departed this life on March 7, 2025, in Warner Robins, Georgia. Born in Miami, Florida on October 29, 1944, Thomas was a beacon of kindness and humor, whose curiosity for the world never dimmed.
Thomas was a man of many talents and interests, reflected through his varied life endeavors. After dedicating part of his early life to serving in the United States Army, he found his true calling on the open seas as a private boat captain engaged in the thrilling business of fishing. A true "jack of many traits," he filled his days with model car building, his favorite being the 1955 Chevy, and was well known for always having a positive outlook on life. His boisterous laughter could often be heard on disco nights, as he embraced the vibrant energy of clubbing with joy. Above all, Thomas was cherished by his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 37 years, Gail Sielaff, his devoted son, Josh Mathisen, and a dear sister, Earline. His passing is also felt by his loyal pup, Bella, who was a constant companion.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Mathisen and Anne Joshua Mathisen, and his sisters, Gretta and Carol. In honoring Thomas's legacy, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and a zest for discovery. His gentle spirit and penchant for finding joy in the unexpected left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace, forever cruising the seas of the beyond.
