Sharon Cannell Firsich, R.N., M.S.
Sharon age 84 of Tigard, Oregon, peacefully passed away on February 27, 2025. Born on January 31, 1941 in Forest Grove, Oregon to the late Thomas and Phoebe Cannell.
Beloved wife of Richard Q. Firsich for 53 years. Mother of Jeffrey Wilder, Kathleen Wilder, Joseph Firsich and Christina Allaway. Grandmother to Ruby Wilder, Benjamin Wilder, and Moss Kuon. Sister to James Cannell, twin Sheila Cullen, and Ann Beaulieu.
Sharon received her Bachelor’s Degree at Portland State University, and her RN and MS at University of Oregon School of Nursing. She contributed significantly to the nursing programs at Oregon Health and Sciences University and University of Portland and was also an author and researcher. She found her calling in oncology nursing and loved her work with Providence Portland Medical Center as a Cancer Nurse Specialist.
Sharon was a member of the West Hills Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Portland, Oregon for over 50 years and dedicated her services to helping develop and grow the program. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, needlepoint, camping and going for drives. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held May 3, 2025 at 10AM at the West Hills Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Portland, Oregon.
Remembrances, in Sharon’s name, may be made to Care Partners Hospice (carepartnersor.org), or the charity of your choosing.
