**Obituary for Alice Marie Ryals (Schmauch)
Alice Marie Ryals, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away on March 8, 2025, in Winter Haven, Florida, at the age of 96. Born on April 3, 1928, in Huntington, West Virginia, Alice lived a life marked by kindness, loyalty, and a deep love for family. Educated at Huntington High School, Alice went on to attend Marshall University, laying the foundation for a lifetime of learning and dedication. She began her professional journey working for the Huntington Herald, Minute Maid, Winter Haven News Chief and State Farm Insurance before discovering her true calling at Belk, where she dedicated 28 years and retired as a valued sales associate. During her high school years, Alice contributed significantly as a team member of the Rosie Riveters during World War II, embodying the spirit of resilience and strength that she carried throughout her life. Alice's generous and considerate nature was evident in her unwavering devotion to her family. She was always willing to lend a listening ear and offer support, regardless of the hour. Her love extended beyond her family as she embraced the well-being of animals and enjoyed life's simple pleasures, such as traveling, shopping, and indulging in her hobbies of embroidering and crocheting. A lover of cinema, Alice also cherished moments spent enjoying movies with her loved ones. Her legacy is carried on by her beloved children, Kathy Wilson, Sherry Zuniga, and Kenneth Ryals(Debra Ryals). She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Monique Williams, Troy Cochran, Michael Campbell, Eric Campbell, Sarah Wilson, Paul Ryals, Zachary Ryals, Andrew Ryals, Joshua Ryals, and Miranda Ryals. Her enduring lineage includes her great-grandchildren, Gabriel Williams and Lauren Williams, and her great-great-grandchild, Jasper Dunford. Alice was preceded in death by her parents (Paul R Schmauch and Myrtle Wellman Schmauch) and son, Paul Michael Campbell. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrate Alice's life on Thursday, March 13, 2025. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Kersey Funeral Home, followed by the service at 6:30 PM. In remembrance of a life well-lived, Alice Marie Ryals leaves behind a legacy of kindness, loyalty, and love that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her.
