Mary "Lou" Louise Hopkins Christian, went to be with her Lord and Savior March 7, 2025. She will be reunited with her beloved husband, Paul D. Christian, Jr., at Andersonville National Cemetery Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

 

Lou was born in Taft, TN to the late Elv G. Hopkins and Nova E. Milam Hopkins. In addition to her parents and spouse, she is preceded in death by her son, James Durbin Christian. She is survived by her care takers, Dr. James R. Bloodworth, Sr. (Carol) of Elko, GA.

 

Paul and Lou  wed on Feb. 15, 1946. Their son, James Durbin Christian, was born September 19, 1947, while they were living on South Walnut St. In 1966 her family moved to Perry, Ga where they settled down and made countless memories. Lou began working at Perry Animal Hospital where she retired after 26 years of dedication. In addition to work, Lou  was an expert seamstress. 

Lou dedicated her life to the Lord. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Perry, Georgia where she enjoyed listening to hymns and sharing Gods message. She enjoyed sharing stories with patients, telling jokes, and worshiping God.
