Marlene J. Scharback
Marlene J. Scharback (nee Miller), 91, a longtime resident of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024 at Danbury Regional Hospice in Danbury, CT.
She was born on January 7th, 1933 in East Orange, NJ, the daughter of Herman and Luise (nee Seeburger) Miller.
Marlene was predeceased by her parents Herman and Luise Miller, and her brother Herbert Miller. Her husband of 64 years, Ronald Scharback predeceased her in 2017.
Marlene grew up in Bloomfield, NJ. She later made her home in Westwood, NJ with husband Ronald and her two children. For many years, Marlene was a preschool teacher’s assistant. Marlene enjoyed reading, sewing, golfing, cooking and baking (especially all kinds of Christmas Cookies). Later in life, she also enjoyed playing cards, mahjong, and bingo. She travelled to many countries with Ron, friends, and family. They especially liked taking cruises.
Marlene enjoyed spending time on the beach at their home on Topsail Island, NC. She looked forward to her children and grandchildren coming to visit at the beach.
Marlene and Ron retired to Sun City Center, FL. After living there for 27 years, Marlene moved to Newtown, CT in 2023 to be closer to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Visits from her family brought Marlene so much joy.
Marlene is survived by her daughter Lynn Sheridan (Patrick), grandchildren Jaclyn Brunetto (Mike), Erin Gunter (Matt), and Brian Sheridan (Kelly) and Great Grandchildren Emmie, Milo, and Theo Brunetto and Jemma Sheridan, and her son Glenn Scharback (Alison) and granddaughter Lucille Rizzo (Anthony); and niece Loren Miller and cousin Walter Buerkle.
A service for Marlene will be held on Friday April 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 701 Valley Forge Blvd, Sun City Center, FL. Internment to follow at Sarasota National Cemetery.
