Dorothy J. Mowen
On March 05, 2025, we lost our beloved mother/grandmother Dorothy J. (Thompson) Mowen. Dorothy was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 10, 1936, to her parents, James Thompson and Ann M. Gustat. Dorothy met and married her husband Ed Mowen in Chicago, Illinois on May 10, 1958; they were married for 58 years. Dorothy and Ed raised their three children for 40 years in The Quad Cities, prior to their move to Del Webb Spruce Creek, FL. In 2003, Dorothy and her husband Ed permanently relocated to Del Webb Spruce Creek, FL to enjoy their much-awaited retirement. While in Del Webb Spruce Creek, Dorothy and Ed became avid golf enthusiasts. Dorothy was a very active member in her church. She played a large role in her community Bible Study. Dorothy enjoyed many activities with her friends in Del Webb Spruce Creek such as playing bridge, Mahjong and other games. One of Dorothy's favorite past times was travelling on senior adventure bus trips with her friends. She enjoyed visiting different locations. Dorothy loved many things in her lifetime, but visits with family, grandkids, and great grandkids were at the top of her list.
