Mary Dean (Wallace) Gayhart
September 28th, 1931 - March 7th, 2025
Mary Dean Wallace Gayhart, of Versailles, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025. She was born in Pulaski County on September 28, 1931 to the late Ernest Lee Wallace and Dorothy Jane Canada Wallace. Mary graduated from high school and worked for Greyhound Bus Service. She traveled to Key West, FL and worked there before returning to Somerset, Kentucky where she met and married James Gayhart in 1955. She remained devoted to her home and family for her lifetime.
Mary is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Gayhart Read (Bill) and Kathy Gayhart; her two grandchildren, Hunter Read (Nikki) and Jamie Thorpe (Jeff); her great grandchild, Hadley Groff; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James K. Gayhart; and her siblings, Mack Lee Wallce (Wilma), Faye Bill Wallace Bristol (Robert), Ina Nell Wallce Sexton (Charles), Leonard Barnes (L.B.) Wallace, and Gary Roger “Chuck” Wallace.
Funeral Service will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sand Spring Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
