Thomas J Corey

Thomas J. Corey, 88, of Melbourne, FL, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and laughter. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Thomas later made his home on Long Island, where he and his family built cherished memories before he retired to Florida in 1992.

A dedicated public servant, Thomas proudly served for 32 years with the New York City Fire Department, bravely protecting and serving his community. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, embodying a lifelong commitment to duty and honor.

A devout Roman Catholic, Thomas was a member of the Ascension Catholic Community in Melbourne, where his faith remained a guiding light throughout his life. He found joy in sharing stories, bringing laughter to those around him, and spending time fishing—one of his greatest passions.

Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Katherine, and his son, Paul. He is survived by his loving daughters, Barbara DeMartino and Patricia Healy, as well as seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his wisdom, humor, and warmth.

He will be laid to rest alongside the love of his life, Katherine, at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. Thomas will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
