In Loving Memory
Teresa Marie Muñoz (Chacon) passed away peacefully on Saturday March 8th 2025 surrounded by those who loved and adored her. At the time of her passing, Teresa was 56 years old. Born and raised in Salinas, California, Teresa made many memories throughout her life with her large family and innumerable friends. She was truly a friend to all, and someone who made everyone feel loved no matter their relationship. Teresa was also known for her propensity to arrive bearing gifts and small tokens of her love to those she cared for no matter the circumstances. Showing up empty-handed was simply not an option. She will be deeply missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have her in their lives.
Born to parents Ruben and Christina Chacon (Mendoza), Teresa grew up with many family members on both sides. As she grew up, she learned the value of family and made sure to stay close to everyone that she could. She did her best to attend every family gathering, and loved to visit whenever the opportunity presented itself. It was always very clear that she had an immense love for her family.
Her life revolved around her husband and children. She was the proud and loving wife to Henry Muñoz Sr., and an amazing mother to Henry and Hannah. She will always be remembered by them as their number one fan and someone who attended every single event and big occasion in their lives along with her husband. She was embracing her new title of grandma to her grandson Henry III, who she was caring for daily at the time of her passing. Although their time together was short, she loved every minute she spent with her grandson and the joy it brought her to see her son become a father. The love she had for all family knew no bounds, and it is her trademark characteristic that she will always be remembered for.
Teresa is survived by her husband, Henry Sr., her children, Henry (Romelia) and Hannah, her mother, Christina, brother, Ruben (Suzette), sister, Victoria, along with nieces and nephews (Aaron, Christy, Marissa, Marcos, Mariah, Marina) who she loved so much and always made a point of trying to see and stay close to. She was preceded in death by her father Ruben Chacon Sr., who she loved and missed dearly, as well as her grandmother Consuelo “Connie” Ortiz, who she stayed close with until the very end.
Funeral arrangements will take place at Healey Mortuary on Thursday March 13th, with a visitation at 10am, and a Graveside to follow at 2pm. Teresa will be laid to rest at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, where she will be with many extended family members who passed on before her.
As a special request, her family asks that those who love Teresa honor her life and memory by spending as much time as they can with their family and loved ones. There was nothing Teresa enjoyed more than her time with family, and additionally, seeing her family make memories with each other. She would love nothing more than to see others love their family and friends the way she loved hers.
The family would lastly like to thank all of the loved ones who came to Teresa’s side during her final days. It made the pain and heartache of the situation secondary to the lasting impact of Teresa’s love for those she knew in her life. This support is something her surviving family will always remember and cherish.

We Entrusted Teresa Munoz's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
