In loving memory

Ralph Alvin “Al” Montgomery Jr, 79  of West Columbia, SC was reunited with  his best friend, the love of his life, his wife, Kay of 42 years. He joined her peacefully on Saturday, March 8th after a long term illness.

Al retired from SCDOT ,  working in  road design. He started his career shortly after graduating from Brookland Cayce High school, having worked there for over 25 years before retiring.

Al loved to tinker, take  things apart, and put  them back together, which led him to open a small home  business repairing lawn mowers and small engines.

Collecting, building and running small scale model trains and railways and building track layouts was a hobby that he immensely enjoyed and loved to show to family and friends.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Alvin Montgomery Sr and Katherine Stephenson Montgomery of West Columbia, SC, his wife, Kay Montgomery of West Columbia and  His sister Joyce M. Kistler of West Columbia.

He is survived by his brother, Russell Montgomery (Suzanne), niece, Katie Montgomery, nephew, Ben Montgomery all of Greenville, SC.

A graveside Memorial Service for friends and family will be held on Wednesday March 26th at 1:00 p.m. at Southland Memorial Gardens.
