April 26th, 1937 - March 7th, 2025
James Roger Ellison, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 7, 2025. He was born April 26, 1937, to Pauline Gertrude (Schneider) and Frederick
Kimbal Ellison. He is dearly loved by his family and is survived by his wife, Nancy Jeanne (Parks) Ellison; four of his children, Mary Alisa Jolivette (daughter), John Roderic Ellison (son); Dennis Perzanowski (son-in-law); Joseph Richard Ellison (son); James Roger Ellison, Jr (son); Deisy Vamilet Mendoza (daughter-in-law); and Doris Nilson (sister-in-law); 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by James Frederic "Moe" Ellison (son); his parents, Frederick T. Ellison (brother); Lawerence C. Ellison (brother), Theresa Ellison Stephens (sister); Patricia Anne Parks Rasin Rodgers (sister-in-law).
Roger graduated from Makin High School in Washington DC; attended American
University, DC, and Maryland University, MD.
He married his wife, Nancy Jeanne (Parks) on August 16, 1958. Roger and Nancy raised their five children in Maryland. He retired from B.F. Saul Company, Maryland, after 38 years as CPM & VP of the Residential Property Mgt Dept. in 1998, and he and Nancy retired in 1999 to Pawleys Island, SC, and in 2002 they moved to The Villages.
Roger loved sports. He played baseball in high school and softball for the B.F Saul Co team: was an avid bowler for years and loved golf. He worked for The Villages Neighborhood Watch and Cain Gardens Golf club as a starter. Roger was dedicated to his faith and active in the church community at St Mark the Evangelist as a Sacristan, and Eucharist Minister of Holy Communion. He was also, a founding member of the KOC Council 14222, and Assembly 3296. Past Grand Knight, Past Faithful Navigator, and KOC Color Corps for many years. Не was a Secular Franciscan, San Damiano Fraternity, a member of Cursillo, Men's Emmas, and Men's Guild.
