Viegut Funeral Home
Phillip Daniel Owens
May 3rd, 1938 - February 15th, 2025
Phillip Daniel Owens, 86, went to be with the Lord for eternity on February 15, 2025. He was born in Winchester, Indiana on May 3,1938, to Ralph Woodrow Owens and Helen Irene (Rowe) Owens. He was a long-time resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and moved to Loveland, Colorado, in 2023. He was a graduate of McKinley High School and served in the United States National Guard. He was an insurance adjuster for most of his working years, traveling often to assist after major events like earthquakes in California, and hurricanes in Florida. He was a lifelong blood donor, enjoyed history, politics, and sports, and took joy in boating and being near the ocean. He loved his children and grandchildren most of all, and encouraged each to “Go for it!”.
He is survived by his sister, Marcia Bretzinger, of Zainesville, Ohio; his three children - Phillip David Owens (Kim), Amy Janya Hallagan (John), and Megan Elizabeth Bam (Eric); seven grandchildren - Zella, Conor, Madison, Ike, Kennedy, Boone, and Owen; and three nephews.
Donating blood would be a beautiful way to honor Phil’s memory. The family would also like to recognize and thank the staff at North Shore Health and Rehabilitation for the love and care they gave our dad over the past year.
