Albert E. Urban, age 80, of Barrington, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday March 7, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

LEGACY:

Known to family and friends as Pop or Al, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a self-proclaimed perfectionist who was always busy doing something. He took pride in his yard whether that was mowing the lawn, weed whacking or edging his lawn, it always looked perfect on any given day. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, who loved his country.

Al was a self-made Marine Electrician who worked at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard for over 30 years until they closed their doors, and he decided to retire. He worked various jobs later on just to keep himself busy. He would often do electrical jobs for friends and family. He would tell you his biggest and best accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. He would beam with pride just talking about them.

He will be best remembered for his safety-first motto “ABC-Always Be Careful” and would say it to everyone, even the neighborhood kids.

He enjoyed time spent at home with his family the most, he adored his daughters, and his smile could light up a room whenever he was with his grandchildren.

FAMILY:

Albert was the beloved husband of 56 years to the late Barbara Urban. Devoted father of Alexandria Urban-Cusumano (Phillip) and Barbara Urban. Cherished grandfather of Matthew Albert, Timothy Albert, Jamie Barbara, Ryan Morrison and grand-dog Khloe. Precious son of Justin and Anna Urban.

Dear brother of 5 brothers and sisters who have preceded him in death, and his remaining brother Stanley Urban. Adored Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

FAREWELL CEREMONY:

Friends and family are invited to attend Albert’s viewing on Monday March 17, 2025 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McGuinness Funeral Home, located in  Woodbury, NJ.

Committal services will be held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ with full Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers donations may also be made in his name to the Veterans Association.

Our beautiful funeral home in Woodbury was originally built in the late 1700s, and has since been rebuilt to honor its original charm and comfortable, warm feel.
