Rodney James Drew, a resident of Olympia, Washington, passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on August 21, 1960, in the same city, Rodney spent his life embodying the values of hard work, dedication, and a love for family and community.

Rodney's early years were marked by his education at Capital High School, where he graduated in 1978. Passionate about working with his hands, Rodney pursued a career as an automotive mechanic, a calling he fulfilled with zeal and expertise. He further extended his skills to serve in the Tumwater School District, and notably, alongside his father, Norm Drew, in oil furnace repair at Drew Heating Service.

Known for his affable nature and readiness to assist others, Rodney took great pleasure in caring for those around him. He was a man deeply connected to the earth, enjoying pursuits such as gardening and woodworking. His interest in cars and tractors was a defining aspect of his character, as was his joy in spending time with his beloved pets, especially Lucy, his dog.

His life was enriched by cherished moments with his family. Rodney was a devoted husband to Teresa Marie Sapp, to whom he was married on January 6, 1979. Together, they had three children: Amanda Parsons (Lee), and Angela Chambers (Dan). Rodney’s love for family extended to his grandchildren, Lucille and Peter, Kayla Macewen (Christian), and their daughter Addison, as well as his grandson, Ethan Davis.

Rodney is also survived by his brothers, Douglas Drew (Cathy), Greg Drew, and Stephan Drew. He joins in rest his parents, Alfred "Norm" and Vera E. Drew, and his son, Daniel Drew, who preceded him in passing.

A formal ceremony to celebrate Rodney's life and legacy will be held on April 5, 2025, at 1pm at the home of Rick and Nancy Meyers, located at 224 N 5th Ave SW, Tumwater, WA, 98502. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Rodney are invited to gather in remembrance and honor.

In remembering Rodney, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with kindness and a profound love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of service and warmth that will be treasured and remembered by all who knew him.
