Douglas "Doug" Thompson Bell
November 8th, 1943 - March 11th, 2025
Douglas Thompson Bell, born on November 8, 1943, in Fort Riley, Kansas, passed away on March 11, 2025, in Seminole, Florida. He was the son of the late Urcel and Margaret Bell and was predeceased by his sister, Lisbeth Bell.
Doug proudly served his country as a captain in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he pursued higher education at the University of South Florida by obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
A devoted father, Doug is survived by his son, Guy Daniel (Dan) Bell, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Bell. He was also a cherished grandfather to Leanne, Laura, and Lilly Bell.
Beyond his professional and family life, Douglas had a passion for golf and bowling. He was a longtime league member at both Seminole Lanes and Sunrise Lanes. He was also an enthusiastic fan of the Tampa Bay Rays, always cheering on his favorite team.
Doug will be remembered for his dedication to family and community. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved and knew him.
Service Details:
Visitation and Celebration of Life will be at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home at 2201 Dr MLK Jr Street North, St Petersburg, FL. on Friday, March 28, 2025. Family will greet friends from 11:30a-12:30p.. The Celebration of Life will follow, begining at 12:30p. Thee will be a committal service following at Sunnyside Cemetery starting at 3pm.
