Paul fiercely loved his family and friends. His love, laughter and friendship will be missed by many.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Paul L. Henning, 83 of Boise on Sunday, March 9th 2025. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Amy; loving children: Lance, Tammy (Scott), Tyler (Madison) and Justin. Paul adored his eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren!

Paul is also survived by his loving sister, Melody, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and other family members. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Ann Henning; infant daughter, Misty: and two sisters: Carole and Holly.

Paul was born in San Antonio, Texas and joined the Air Force in 1959. He served for 20 years in the U.S., Guam, Taiwan and England. His first two years were spent as a firefighter on the flight line. Paul then went into civil engineering. His last five years of military service were spent at Mountain Home Air Force Base teaching Leadership classes. Paul (or Tex as he was called in the military) made many wonderful friends over the course of his service.

After retirement from the Air Force, Paul spent the next 35 years working as a civilian for drug and alcohol rehab facilities. Starting with St. Al's in Nampa, then Intermountain Hospital, and New Hope Treatment facilities in Boise.

His last few years before retirement, Paul owned his business doing drug and alcohol testing around the Pacific Northwest. Paul had a strong commitment to his chosen field, but his true passion was baseball–specifically Little League Baseball. He loved working with the youth! He started as a coach, then umpire, then Chief Umpire and eventually District Administrator for several years. Paul loved running into the grown kids that he had coached and umpired whose own kids were now in the Little League program! He loved cheering for his boys and his grandchildren at their games and was so looking forward to this season's games!

Over the years Paul was involved with several organizations such as the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce, The National Guard, Lions Club, Parents and Youth Against Drug Abuse (PAYADA) and of course, his church. The last 30 plus years Paul was involved with the Whitney Fire Department. First as a Commissioner and later as a liaison including the N. Ada County Fire District. He always cherished the friendships he made there.

We Entrusted Paul Henning's Care To

Accent Funeral Home

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
