Lois Elaine Norris
September 2nd, 1939 - March 5th, 2025
Lois Elaine “Granny” Norris, 85, of Glen Haven, formerly of Iowa, passed away at home in Glen Haven, CO March 5, 2025.
Lois Elaine Rupprecht was born September 2, 1939 in Oskaloosa, IA. Being an avid reader she graduated from Barnes City High School in 1956 at the early age of 16.
In 1958 Lois married Charles Robson Norris in Missouri and they resided in Grinnell, Deep River, Eldorado, West Union, and Elkader, Iowa areas before living in Glen Haven. She assisted in the family business until 2007.
Some of her greatest enjoyments were spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lois always put others ahead of herself. She enjoyed quilting and over the many decades made several for family members and sold many dozens of custom quilts for others. She had an artist's eye for color. Being an accomplished pianist, she played for different functions including performing in night clubs in the 1960s, school functions, Good Samaritan homes, church choirs, weddings, and local get-togethers at the Glen Haven Town Hall. "Pizza Night" every week was always a party and Lois hosted a houseful of her kids' friends on many occasions. She and her husband, Charlie loved raising animals, the outdoors, and wildlife. She was always, and forever will be, young at heart. No adventure was too small for Granny.
Survivors include Becky (Steve) Childs of Glen Haven, CO; Jeff Norris of Elgin, IA; Barbara (Mark) Norris of Loveland, CO; Sharon Duggan, Murrieta, CA: Five grandchildren: Tara (Travis) Welsch, Cedar Falls, IA; Levi (Devon) Rema, Loveland, CO; Tyler Norris, Austin, TX; Samantha Norris, Loveland, CO; Dylan Childs, Loveland, CO; Four great grandchildren: Austin, Zoey, Tate, and Ty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles Norris, son Steve Norris, brother Loren Rupprecht, and son-in-law James Reeder.
Viegut Funeral Home, Loveland, CO is assisting the family. No services are planned at the present time; a memorial service will be held at a later date.
