BERNARD MCHUGH
May 29th, 1937 - March 6th, 2025
Bernard (Bernie) William McHugh passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on March 6, 2025. Born on May 29,1937 in Brockton, MA, Bernie was a light in the dark to all who knew him.
On July 24, 1981, Bernie had the great honor of marrying the love of his life, Joan Marilyn Tuck. Joanie, as he affectionately called her, was his reason for waking up in the morning. He cherished her beyond words and missed her every day since her passing on October 25, 2008.
Bernie had a quick wit and a kind word to share with everyone he met. He quickly made friends anywhere he went. He was loved by many, and a friend to all.
Bernie is preceded in death by Joan McHugh, his wife and best friend; David Blackwell, his son; Judy Blackwell Osborne, his daughter; and his parents, Bernard William McHugh and Mildred Claire (Condon) McHugh.
He is survived by his daughter, Jeanne Blackwell; granddaughter Rebekah Sass and her wife Rachel; granddaughter Ronni Kelly; granddaughter Michelle Sass; granddaughter Jessica Mishler and her husband Troy; granddaughter Samantha Martinez; grandson Sean Blackwell and his wife Melisa; daughter-in-law Dottie Blackwell.
Bernie will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
In accordance with Bernie’s wishes, there will not be a service.
