Claudette was born in Saginaw, Michigan, in 1935 and came to Arizona in 1947. As a sports enthusiast, she played softball, and her team won the national Softball Championship in 1952. At 17, she earned a Black Belt in Judo and was a Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol, teaching Judo and ham radio, Claudette graduated from Amphitheater High School, she was a member of the Tucson Bowling League for nine years and held the first-place title four years.  In 1953, she met her husband John T. Hill, on a blind date. Not only did they raise three children of their own, but Claudette and her husband have "fostered" children in their home. Claudette was an active Bluebird leader for many years with the Campfire Girls. Active in her church and Scouting service, Claudette has volunteered as a teacher, sports coach, umpire, basketball and volleyball referee.  She has been active in Scouting for the last 50 consecutive years serving as a Den Leader, Webelos Den Leader, Committee Member and Committee Chairman in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting and Venturing Scouting. She served as Scout Committee Chairperson and assists young men in preparing for their Eagle Rank advancement. Claudette attended Little Philmont in 2003, 2004, and 2005. She completed the Scouting Child Protection course in June of 2005, 2006, & 2018.

In her spare time, she has enjoyed square dancing, doing ceramics, collecting Elvis memorabilia, working with children and elderly people, but most of her time goes to being with her husband of 60 years, he passed away October 2013 and her three children, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

She has enjoyed Scouting; it has been a big part of her life. She wants to make sure every young man has the opportunity for scouting and let them know how important it is for them to become an Eagle Scout.
