Phyllis Lucille Gomez, 90, of Tucson, AZ, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025.
Born on May 28, 1934, Phyllis grew up in Rapid City, SD. She graduated from Central High School and went on to dedicate herself to a fulfilling career as a dental assistant. She was deeply committed to her work, finding joy in both the technical aspects of her job and the many meaningful relationships she built throughout her career.
A woman of great vitality, Phyllis was known for her love of life and diverse passions. She embraced an active lifestyle, whether it was through her long walks or her love of swimming. In her downtime, she enjoyed knitting, creating beautiful, hand-crafted pieces that brought warmth and comfort to those fortunate enough to receive them.
Above all, Phyllis cherished time spent with her family and the light of her life, her beloved dog, Teddy.
Phyllis is survived by her brothers, James Heald and Kenneth Heald; her children, Valencia Johnson, Cindy (Tom) Warren, Jojo Chacon, and John (Alma) Myefski; five grandchildren, Paris Chacon, Julia (Rick) Kaiser, Christina (Killian) Grant, Kyle Johnson, and Charlotte Connolly; as well as five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Lucille Heald, and her husband, Fernando Gomez.
A memorial service in her honor will be held at a later date.
