Diana Lynne Kozial, 63 of Berthoud passed away peacefully at home on March 10th, in the comfort of her husband, after a 15-month battle with glioblastoma.

She was born on September 29, 1961 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of LuEtta and Harland Speer.

She moved with her parents, her brother and 4 sisters to Colorado when she was just a year old.

Whatever she put her mind to she also put her whole heart into. She dedicated over 24 years to working at Particle Measuring Systems in Boulder. She was not only a hardworking, committed employee but also a dear friend to many. She was an open ear and a helping hand to anyone in need.

She showed that same dedication while taking care of her father in the last years of his life. She treasured those years and the relationship that they shared.

She enjoyed long walks in nature accompanied by her 4-legged loved ones.

Diana (Dee Dee) was a well-traveled person. She enjoyed traveling all over the world with her husband.

She said she never had a favorite place, just loved meeting people from different cultures from all over the world. She easily made new friends wherever she went. She always commented that the best part of the trip was always coming home and enjoying the country living.

Diana was thoughtful, had the biggest heart, was loyal, and had a tremendous love for animals, especially dogs. She lit up every room with her bright smile, her infectious positivity, and her laughter. If you were lucky enough to be loved by her, your life was better because of it. To know her is to know love. We are so lucky to have shared this life with her, and she lives on in all of our hearts.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Jeff Kozial as well as a large extended family.

Jeff would like to thank her sister Janis Holt and niece Jessicca Zesch for all the help and support during the past 15 months.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Diana’s name:
