Richard Eugene Trueblood
June 26th, 1935 - March 5th, 2025
Richard Eugene Trueblood, age 89, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025. Born in Salem, Indiana on June 26, 1935, Richard moved to El Mirage with his family 68 years ago to provide a better climate for his mother’s health. It was here that Richard would spend the rest of his life, becoming a beloved member of the community and a cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
For 50 years, Richard worked as a mechanic in Sun City, earning the respect of his coworkers and clients for his skill and dedication. His work was more than just a job to him—it was a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to always doing his best.
Richard was deeply devoted to his family. He loved spending time with them and was the glue that held them all together. If he hadn't heard from one of his children in a week, he would reach out, always making sure his loved ones were well. His constant love and care for his family were the foundation of his life.
Richard had a special passion for trains, a love that he passed on to those who shared his enthusiasm. His fondness for these machines mirrored the way he moved through life—steadfast, reliable, and always with a sense of purpose.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Patsy, who passed away before him. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Mary; daughters Mary and Cindy; and his siblings: Doris, Paul, Cletus, Warren, Raymond, Judy, and Alice.
Richard is survived by his children: Patricia, Eddie, Donald, Russell, and Ronald; 21 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and his sister Sue.
Richard’s love for his family, his unwavering dedication, and his warm spirit will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace, reunited with those he loved.
Family and friends are invited to Celebrate Richard’s Life at 1pm on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Desert Cove Assembly, 10833 N Dysart Road, El Mirage, AZ 85335.
