Fred Lund

Fred Lund, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and dedicated educator, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, at the age of 96.

Born on February 8, 1929, Fred dedicated his life to teaching and inspiring young minds as a math teacher for 32 years. His passion for education was evident in the way he encouraged his students, always believing in their potential and value. He was a caring and compassionate man who left a lasting impact on those he taught and loved.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Lund, who passed on January 12, 2010. He was proceeded in death by his Father Chris Lund, Mother Minnie Lund, Brothers Emmert Lund, Chuck Lund, Russ Lund, Sisters Gladys Hummel, and Wilma Gutzeit. 

He is survived by his loving family: Daughter Annette Monserrate and her husband Manny Monserrate, along with their children, Joe Monserrate, Rachel Monserrate and Sam Monserrate, and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Xavian.  Daughter Jan Lund.  Son Steve Lund and his wife Shelley Lund, along with their children, Brian and Brandon Lund and his wife Kris Lund, and great-grandchild Levi Lund.  Son Jeffrey Lund and his wife Shelley C. Lund, along with their son, Keaton Lund.  Son Jason Lund and his wife Jen Lund, along with their children, Jackson Lund and Nathan Lund.

Survived by his Brother Larry Lund and Sisters Kathy Smith, Shirley Jurgens and Barb Behel. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Fred’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, both in and outside the classroom. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering belief in the goodness of others will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Loveland, Colorado on March 22, 2025, at 11am, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his remarkable life. There will be a Celebration of Life at Berthoud Brewing in Loveland, Colorado following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fred’s honor to Immanuel Lutheran School, supporting education and the future generations he so deeply cared for.
