In 1951, Nat was drafted into the Army, serving his country with distinction in the Korean War. He rose to the rank of Sergeant before being discharged in 1954.Following his military service, he embarked on a career, working at Mt. Rainier Ordinance before spending nearly two decades at the Olympia Brewery, from which he retired in 1985. Throughout his career, he was known for his sense of humor, firm handshake and quick smile.
