Tribute & Tallent Funeral and Cremations
Kathleen Brigid Keane
April 10th, 1984 - March 12th, 2025
Kathleen Brigid Keane, 40, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. Known to all as Kate, she lived a life rooted in love, faith, and unwavering strength. Kate was born in Monroe, New York, and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, at the age of 10. A graduate of Charlotte Catholic High School (Class of 2002), she spent a year at Mary Washington College, where she was a member of the crew team, before returning home to continue at UNC Charlotte. During her time there, she was active in Catholic Campus Ministry, deepening a faith that would guide her throughout her life. While pursuing a nursing degree, Kate discovered her true calling—motherhood. Devoted to raising her children, she embraced homeschooling, not only as an educator but as a mentor and inspiration to other homeschooling mothers. She poured her heart into teaching, leading with love, and shaping the lives of her children. Kate’s Catholic faith was at the center of her life. She led her family with grace, selflessness, and an unwavering trust in God’s plan. Even as she battled Lupus from the age of 18 and later faced the challenges of Loin Pain Hematuria Syndrome, enduring two kidney autotransplant surgeries in consecutive years, she remained steadfast in her role as a mother and teacher. She was a woman of incredible strength who never allowed her health struggles to define her or diminish her love for her family. Kate is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Chris Keane, and their children: James, Maire, Rose, Keegan, and Lucy. She is also survived by her siblings: Kevin, Michael, Kerry, Don, and Lauren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Mary, who undoubtedly welcomed her into eternal rest with open arms. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. to celebrate Kate’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kate’s memory to the Lupus Foundation of America.
