John Rodney Conner

John Rodney Conner, 74, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away on February 18th, 2025 after a battle with Glioblastoma.  Everyone that knew John, knew he was a firecracker! Very fitting that he was born on July 4th,1950 to Melvin and Elzvie Conner. He was the life of any party, loved to host, and his humor and jokes were unmatched!  John was a driven individual and a master of all trades: electrical, plumbing, woodworking, gardening - you name it, he could do it all. His successful career journey included being a police officer for close to twenty years, a business owner, real estate investor and financial advisor.  He took pleasure in reading and learning new things whether it be facts, history, politics, plants, birds, landscaping, projects or useless knowledge. John absolutely enjoyed being and working outside. There was nothing better in his opinion than a roaring campfire with a glass of wine surrounded by friends and family. John is survived by his wife Shawn Burns; his two daughters: Heather (Terry) Lynn and Kelly (Andrew) Russell; his 6 grandchildren: Cree Wallace, Alexis and Tristan Daniels, Zade Fusselman, and Chloe and Aubrey Lynn; his 2 great grandchildren: Tommie and David Wallace; and his 2 step-children Cameron Burns and Caetlyn (Cody) Best as well as their son Miles. John is also survived by his sisters Patty (Stosh) Lisska, Peggy Conner, and Beth Kidd King who he loved just like a sister. He is preceded in death by his brother Ronald Conner, father Melvin and mother Elzvie. The family will honor his memory with a quiet farewell and per his request no public service will be held.
