Karen Elaine Penley, 77, of Divide, Colorado passed away on March 14, 2025, in Colorado Springs.
She was born on October 9, 1947, to Charles and Kathryn Middleton in Houston, Texas.
Karen had a successful career in interior design and managed her own design business for many years. She was an accomplished artist, craftswoman, decorator, and antique collector. She had a fantastic eye for style. She loved living in Divide in the home that she designed.
Karen was a member of and active in the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronnie Middleton and Darryle Middleton, and her sister Beverly Middleton Lewis.
Karen is survived by her husband Gary Penley. She is also survived by her son Christopher Penley and his children and grandchildren. She also is survived by ten nieces and nephews, as well as a multitude of grand-nieces and nephews.
Additionally, she always had a very special place in her heart for her beloved dog Bailey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 2 PM at Legend Senior Care, 2368 Research Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO, 80920.
