Margaret “Margie” Jean Freeman (Hollingdale) March 5th, 1948 - March 15th, 2025
Margie, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home at age 77 surrounded by her family who loved her dearly.
Margie was born in Toledo, Ohio to parents Frederick and Genevieve Hollingdale. She was in the first graduating class at Roy C. Start High School. While attending the University of Toledo she studied art and continued her love of art in all forms throughout her life. She moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2000.
Margie met the love of her life, Don Freeman, when they were children in their church primary Sunday School. They married in November of 1966 and shared 58 blissful years together.
She is survived by their three children; Matt (Rachel) Freeman, Jean (Aaron) Buck and Kate (Josef) Stephens and her brother Roy “Skip” Allen Hollingdale.
Margie will be remembered for being a devoted grandmother and for creating happy memories with her grandchildren Caden, Aurora, Jack, and Cooper.
Margie will be fondly remembered by all of those that she served over her lifetime. Compassionate service was a visible theme all throughout her life. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints and displayed an unwavering faith in the Lord. Whether it was taking meals to those in need or teaching seminary and life skills, she did it with grace and made sure everyone’s needs were met. Margie never met a stranger and there are a multitude of cherished friends that will miss her dearly. Her family will miss her love, support, and quick wit. We know families are forever and we will see her again.
She is preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Geneiveve Hollingdale.
