Beverly A. Kreisel
July 10th, 1931 - March 18th, 2025
Mrs. Beverly Ann Kreisel of Midline Road passed peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday. March 18, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital. Born on July 10, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William (Bill) Wood and Grace Heslink Wood.
A lifelong area resident, well known by the community, Beverly was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. After high school she worked for a short time as a telephone operator at AT&T before starting a family and becoming the full-time bookkeeper for the Family business Kreisel's Home Improvement Company.
Beverly married the love of her life and best friend, Edward George Kreisel Jr. on October 26, 1952. They were happily married 63 years before George passed in 2016.
Beverly was a family first, animal lover and was known to bring in more than a few stray cats as her own over the years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, was a lover of sports and was often seen watching her favorite local team, the Amsterdam Mohawks. She was a foster mother, and den mother with the cub scouts for 20 years. She enjoyed traveling with friends, going on cruises and camping with family and spending time outdoors. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels in her front yard. Beverly will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include two of her sons, Jeffrey and Michael; her grandchildren, David (Amy), Shauna (Josh), Kelly (Tony), Ethan and Brandie (Jack); great grandchildren, Gunner, Quinn, Katelynn, Brayden, Gavin, Haley and Harvie: and her sweet feline friend Tigger.
She was predeceased by her mother, father, brother Vedder Wood, husband Edward George Kreisel Jr., son David Kreisel Sr., Daughter in law Paula Kreisel, Daughter in law Kathy Coates Kreisel.
A graveside service for Beverly will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 11am at Green Hill Cemetery, Amsterdam with Rev. William Pitcher officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave, Gloversville, NY, 12078, Amsterdam Youth Baseball, 1466 Midline Road, Amsterdam, NY, 12010 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
