Edward Dill

Edward Dill, 92, of Greeley, passed away on November 14, 2018 in Greeley. He was born to Jacob and Elizabeth (Ells) Dill on February 7, 1926 in LaSalle, CO. He married Ruth (Frank) October 1, 1948 in Iowa. Ed and Ruth recently celebrated 70 years of marriage with family and friends. Ed farmed 40 plus years in the Gilcrest/Platteville area with his wife, Ruth and their three daughters. He received several High Ten Awards for his sugar beet crops. Ed was a member of the Gilcrest Lions Club, Greeley Elks Club and while farming he served on the Central Weld Water Board. Ed enjoyed music, encouraging his daughters to play various instruments. He spent many years taking his daughters to talent shows and listening to them play. After retiring and moving to Greeley, Ed was able to spend many years golfing, fishing and traveling. He was a member of the Highland Hills and Boomerang Mens' Golf Association. Ed is survived by his wife, Ruth. Daughters, Deborah Miller, Greeley, Sandra Clark, Laramie, WY. Cynthia (Rod) Schaub, Fort Collins. Sister, Betty Silliman, Grand Junction. Grandchildren, Brady Miller, Mindy Miller, Matthew Clark, Jennie Clark, Kelly Schaub, and Holly Schaub. Great granddaughters, Kelsey and Courtney Rivera, Harley Miller, Kayla Metzger, and Hannah Clark. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jacob, John, and Harold. Sisters Molly Horst and Barbara Swetzig. Son-in-law Russell Clark. Memorial services will be at a later date.
