Joel T. Glenn went home to be with the Lord on March 17, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born on December 29, 1936, in Denver, Colorado, but grew up in Big Springs and Chappell, Nebraska. Devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Preceded in death by his wife Peggy and daughter Kimberlea (Bruce Baarstad). He is survived by daughter AmyBeth (William Stewart); grandchildren Ryan Stewart, Savannah Stewart, Branton Baarstad (Kallie), and Kallin Mikkelson (Tanner); and great granddaughter Letty Ann Baarstad.

After graduating from high school in Chappell NE, Joel took on a logging job in Coos Bay, Oregon. He then attended college and received his B.A. in Education from Hastings College. While there, he played football and basketball. He and Peggy moved to Aurora, Colorado and he taught science at North Jr. High. After a few years of teaching, he decided to branch out as a pharmaceutical representative for Riker Laboratories. He served in that capacity for over 25 years. This morphed into selling medical books for Mosby. Tired of expensive travel, he tried his hand in real estate for Thunderbird Realty. Rounding out his career, he worked for Chambers Wine and Liquor for over 20 years.

Joel had a passion for sports that was second to none. Never missed a pick-up game in basketball. The Broncos, Nuggets and Cornhuskers were at the top of his list, although he could also rattle off baseball stats without a second thought. He loved cheering for the Yankees - all the way up to his last days. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing with his best bud, Eddie the Corgi. He was never known to pass up a good hot dog/brat and a nice cold Miller Highlife.

He and Peggy retired and moved to Heritage Eagle Bend in Aurora, CO. The HEB community welcomed them with open arms and presented them with a myriad of lifelong friends and social activities. Joel served on several boards, including serving as Director and Vice President of the Traditions Homeowners Association. His favorite contributions included working the annual garage sale and wine tasting fundraiser. Widowed, Joel joined the Singles group and met some of the most energetic, fun and caring people!

Joel’s Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, March 27, 4-6pm at the Parkway Bar and Grill, 22775 E. Aurora Prkwy, Aurora, CO 80016.
