With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Louise Parker Lang, who left this world on March 17, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on April 16, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, to Thomas and Jane Parker, Louise was destined to become the beloved matriarch of our family. She embodied the very essence of devotion, serving as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend.

Louise graduated from Mount Lebanon High School in 1958, continued on to Centenary College for Women and later attended Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School. She began her career at Mellon Bank before fate intervened—she met a handsome lifeguard, Paul Lang, who would become the love of her life. They married in 1962 and moved to Arlington, VA, where Louise worked for a scientist, earning Top Security Clearance—an achievement that Paul, with his standard clearance, could never quite match. From that moment on, she was, without question, in charge.

Their journey took them to Munster, Indiana, where Louise embraced her most important role: CEO of the family. She wholeheartedly supported her children in everything they did, never missing a baseball game, soccer match, swim meet, or gymnastics competition. Always the first to volunteer, she served as a Den Leader, Brownie Leader, and Girl Scout Leader, ensuring that her children—and many others—had enriching and memorable experiences. Her boundless dedication and encouragement made her their greatest cheerleader, both on and off the field.

Beyond her family, Louise was a pillar of her community. She was actively involved in philanthropic work, dedicating her time to organizations such as Tri Kappa, Service League, PEO, and the Hospital Guild. She also played an integral role in the family’s business, C.M. Quick 1-Hour Photo, serving as the bookkeeper.

Though small in stature, Louise was mighty in spirit. She pursued an adventurous and active life, excelling in fencing, lacrosse, synchronized swimming, and tennis in her younger years. In her 50s, eager to spend more time with Paul, she took up golf, ensuring they could share even more moments together on the course.

A true explorer at heart, Louise and Paul traveled the world, visiting nearly every continent—including Antarctica, where she fulfilled a dream of seeing the penguins up close.

Louise is survived by her husband of 63 years, Paul; Children: Stephen (Candis) Lang; Thomas (Donna) Lang; Debra (Ronald) Hills; grandchildren: Danielle (Zachery) Smith, Matthew (Olivia) Lang, Hunter Lang, Alyssa Lang, and Parker Lang; great-grandson: George Lang. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Sallie Weintz, Nancy Moreno.

Louise’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A memorial service will be celebrated at First Presbyterian Church in Hilton Head Island on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:00am.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Memory Matters Hilton Head Island or First Presbyterian Church Hilton Head Island.
