Sally Ann Jacobs
October 29th, 1939 - March 10th, 2025
Sally Ann Jacobs died peacefully at home in Meridian, Idaho on March 10, 2025 at the age of 85. Her family gathered in support and love for her through her last days. Sally was born to George Marrs and Gracia Racine Lont on October 29, 1939 in Bremerton, Washington. She was the youngest of three children and lived in Navy Yard City, Washington until the family moved to Boise, Idaho when she was 6 years old. She attended Garfield Elementary, East Junior High, and graduated from Boise High in 1957.
As a teen, her first job was at Orange Julius in downtown Boise. She was very proud of that humble beginning! In June of 1961, she began her career at Idaho Power Company as a Keypunch operator. When she retired 35 years later in 1997, she had advanced to Supervisor of Construction Accounting.
Sally has three daughters; Kim Kolsen, Barbara Maurer, and Traci Robertson. They and their children have been the light of her life. She married Jan Marson in 1962, but the love of her life was Michael Jacobs, whom she married in 1977. Together they enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, and time spent at their cabins in Placerville and Cascade, Idaho. She reveled in the outdoors.
Sally loved animals. She was patient and enjoyed the challenge of gaining their trust. Squirrels, ducks, chipmunks, and deer all ate from her hand. Her grandchildren were certain she was an ‘animal whisperer’.
Full of life, she delighted in fast cars; owning three Corvettes in her lifetime. She was always up for an adventure, whether boating on Lake Powell, or exploring the Puget Sound for family reunions.
Sally is survived by her daughters, Kim Kolsen and her husband Rod, Barbara Maurer, and Traci Robertson; her grandchildren, BreAnn Kolsen, Katie Robertson, Hannah, Joe, Elizabeth and Gabriel Maurer with Gabriel’s wife Emma; her great grandchildren, Karlie Kolsen-Davis, Samuel Maurer, Evie Maurer, and Indy Maurer son of Nathan and Danielle Maurer; her aunt, Aletha McCauley and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jan Marson and Michael Jacobs; parents, George and Gracia Lont; her brother, Herb Lont and his wife Billy; her sister, June Point and her husband Ted; her grandson, Nathan Maurer; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Graveside service will be held at Morris Hill Cemetery in Boise, Idaho on April 5, 2025 at 11:00 am.
