Obituary for Lynne E. DeSanto (née Edwards)

             March 20, 2025 – Age 75

With deep sorrow and love, we announce the peaceful passing of Lynne E. DeSanto (née Edwards) on March 20th, 2025, at the age of 75. Lynne was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose presence brought joy, comfort, and warmth to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Lynne was the loving wife of the late Robert A. DeSanto, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories. Together, they raised a beautiful family, and Lynne's heart was full of love for her children: Heather Dipaolo (Paul), Holly Sangillo (Christopher), Robyn Dornewass (Jonathan), and Robert DeSanto (Deborah). She was also the loving mother of her late children, Heather and Walter, whose memories she held dear.

Her greatest joy was being a grandmother, and she was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Cierra, Gabriella, Gavin, Logan, Christina, Dominic, Katrina, Sean, Jacob, Micah, Gracelyn, Lucas, Anastasia, and Asher. She was a proud great-grandmother to Izabellah, Josiah, and Athenah, and her face lit up with love every time she was surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love will live on through each of them.

Lynne was born to Grace and Walter Edwards, the youngest of six siblings: Walter, Jean, Betsy, Willard, Dolly, and Gerry. As a sister, Lynne was a source of love, joy, and laughter. Her bond with her family was unbreakable, and she carried that love with her every day.

Lynne loved spending time with her family, especially during the holidays and cookouts. She eagerly looked forward to Christmas, when she enjoyed watching the children open their gifts and cherished the joy and excitement of the season. Birthdays were always a special occasion for Lynne, as she never missed a chance to celebrate and shower her loved ones with affection.

One of Lynne's favorite ways to spend time with her grandchildren was by playing video games together, particularly her favorite game, Zelda. She was a kid at heart, always full of energy, laughter, and fun. Whether playing games or watching her grandchildren play together, Lynne found joy in every moment.

In her younger years, Lynne loved weekend trips to Atlantic City with her husband, Robert, her sister Gerry, and her brother-in-law Carl. Those weekends were filled with laughter, companionship, and precious memories, and they remained some of her happiest times.

Lynne’s life was a testament to the importance of family, love, and togetherness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit, laughter, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A service in celebration of Lynne's life will be held on Friday, March 28th, at McGuinness Funeral Home 34 Hunter Street, Woodbury, NJ 08096. A viewing will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM.

May Lynne rest in peace, knowing that the love she gave will continue to shine in the hearts of all who loved her.
