Mementos

With sadness we acknowledge the passing of our beloved Carol Ann (Intorelli) Richardson, 78, on March 21, 2025. Carol passed away peacefully with family at her side.

Raised in Vailsburg/Newark, NJ & Maplewood, NJ, Carol attended Sacred Heart Grammar School, and was a graduate of Columbia High School, class of 1964. Before retiring she was employed by Chubb & Sons, and Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, where she worked in the Cardiac Cath Lab for many years.

Carol previously lived in Point Pleasant, NJ & Margate, FL before relocating to Satellite Beach, Florida.  She was a member of the Volunteer First Aid Squad in Maplewood, where she rode along side her best friend, MaryLou Gehring. She loved dancing and skiing, and played softball for many years. Carol enjoyed attending Seton Hall University Pirates basketball games as a season ticket holder.

She loved watching the beautiful white American Pelicans and numerous ducks that surround her lakeside property. She enjoyed domestic and abroad traveling, playing RummiKub with family &  poolside friends, and also weekly lunch outings. Carol was extremely generous, and supported various charitable organizations. She had a kind soul, caring and wonderful family and friend relationships.

Carol leaves behind her devoted daughters Gina O’Sullivan (Ian), Satellite Beach, FL, and Joanna Prout (Arthur), Point Pleasant, NJ & Satellite Beach, FL. Her grandsons, Kieran and Braden O’Sullivan, are among the many adoring nieces, nephews, cousins, all loving family members and longtime childhood friends. Also surviving is her sister Phyllis Sgroi & her husband, Donald Sgroi, M.D., Wanaque, NJ. … Sharing their late parents, Philip & Helen Intorelli (Dobitz).

There are no words to describe the great loss in the hearts of all who loved Carol. Forever Darling, she will be remembered as a glorious star, shining bright, who brought sunshine to all who had the honor, privilege and great pleasure of calling Carol a dear friend.

Carol is one who would want to be the change in this world. And in her light, Donations to the GoFundMe https://gofund.me/2ebefcb6 for JoAnn Dietrich, a young teacher who is currently battling cancer alongside her beautiful family, are gratefully appreciated.
