Ernest "Ernie" Acosta
December 12th, 1948 - March 3rd, 2025
Ernest "Ernie" Acosta, 76, of Peoria, AZ, passed away on March 3, 2025 of natural causes. Ernie was born on December 12, 1948 to Celia and Manuel Acosta in Fresno, California. After Ernie graduated from Sylmar High School, he served in the Army from 1968-1970. After his military service, he started his long career in the flooring business. In 1966, he started dating his first wife, Cristine Arrigo in Sylmar. They went on to have one child, Deke Acosta. They later divorced. Ernie met his second wife, Peggy Leeth, and they married in 1979. In approximately 2015, Ernie retired and spent time traveling with Peggy and friends. Ernie was predeceased by Celia and Manuel Acosta, as well as his brothers Michael and Louie. He was also predeceased by Peggy Leeth. He is survived by his son, Deke Acosta and his wife, his granddaughter, and his siblings, Henry, Daniel, Steve, Rebecca, and Theresa.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in California. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to veterans' organizations.
