Buddy was predeceased by his parents Sybil Doyle and Clyde F. Wilson, his first wife Diana, and his brother Clyde F. Wilson, Jr.

Buddy was a people person – he never met a stranger. He loved storytelling and sharing the history of the Lowcountry. His fondest stories were about being a boy scout, camping, and building campfires. Closer to his heart was being a Scoutmaster to Boy Scout Troop 241 leading the scouts through all kinds of adventures, cooking and other competitions. In his 25 plus years as a Scoutmaster he proudly assisted with as many as 25 scouts earning Eagle Scout Awards. He was so proud of his scouts and watched them grow into successful adults and bring their children into scouting.

He was passionate about paddling in the May River and never missed an opportunity to kayak out to get oysters or crabs. Buddy took great joy in the simple pleasures of life and in his retirement years he lived each day to the fullest by bike riding, walking and kayaking. The family gatherings brought so much happiness and fun. His favorite saying was – “I am as happy as a pig in mud in the middle of July with a glass of wine.”

Buddy was a Master Mason with the Hardeeville Lodge 348 since 1985. He became a Shriner with the Alee Temple in 2010 and to the Scottish Rite – Valley of Savannah in 2010.

Buddy truly lived his best life. He was thankful for each sunrise and sunset and never failed to give all thanks, glory and praise to the Lord above. Buddy will be missed beyond measure.

Honoring Buddy's wishes, there will be no formal services. Please honor his memory in your own way. The family encourages those interested to make a donation in his honor to Boy Scout Troop 241 – Bluffton Scoutmaster Buddy Wilson, the Shriners Hospital, Greenville, SC or RiteCare – Scottish Rite – Valley of Savannah.
