John Raymond Snodgrass, age 83 of Weber City, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2025. John, also known as “Clem”, was born on August 25, 1941, in Scott County, VA to Festus and Irma Snodgrass. John retired from Eastman Chemical, and he also served in the Virginia National Guard. On May 8, 1965, John married his most cherished friend, Irma Price, and they shared 59 years of a beautiful life together.
John enjoyed his life, and he cherished his family. He sang with a Barbershop Quartet, and he was an accomplished bass player with many local country bands. He was also a professional photographer.
John was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Festus Snodgrass Jr.; and one sister, Joann Moffa. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Irma Snodgrass; two daughters, Tracie Rowland and husband David, and Tammy Lane; two grandchildren, Brandon Lane, and Kerianne Deskins; great-grandson, Finn Carico; brother, James Snodgrass and wife Teresa; and sister-in-law, Jewel Snodgrass.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Holston View Cemetery with Chaplain R.J. Rose officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 pm.
